| Kelli Robinson is a local San Francisco artist, teacher, and parent. Her love of the city, teaching, and being the parent of an exceptional child have all come together to create her distinctive style and child-like essence in her work. Living in the heart of San Francisco, she has access to so much inspiration every time she walks out her door, from the eclectic people, fellow artists, local music scene, to the smattering of nature that exists in the urban environment.
She originally hailed from So Cal, growing up in West Hollywood, and attended college at the University of California, in Santa Barbara where she graduated with a BA in Dramatic Arts and a Masters in Education. No matter what the subject matter may be … an elephant, a woman’s face, or a flower, Kelli combines her theatrical nature, her free spirit, and her love of discovery in her acrylic paintings. The beauty of working with acrylics is that nothing is ever irreparable … unlike life … in the world of painting and art, it is full of fantasy, imagination, and play … where all is fixable … My goal as a mature artist is to try and recapture that simple element of fun and play, fantasy and imagination in my work – to try to get back to that initial sense of inspiration and joy. |
